Rain Rain Go Away!

Well, what a dismal summer we are having so far weather wise. This time last year we were in the middle of a heatwave, roll on 12months and it's been rain, rain and more rain….

We are off to Ascot next week and I am keeping everything crossed hoping the weather will take a turn for the better, it's no fun tottering around in heels sinking in the grass and holding hats from the wind all day. I may pack my wellies if it carries on although not sure if they are listed in the Royal Ascot dress code!

We also have Henley Royal Regatta to look forward to in early July, which is a highlight of the summer sporting calendar and social season. The Regatta attracts thousands of visitors over the week, with over 200 races of an international standard which can include Olympic rowers as well as crews new to the event, so we are looking forward to first class rowing, a trip up and down the river and a glass or two of Pimms.

We have brought out a limited edition Chelsea cape in a lightweight wool in a navy and pink stripe, so if you fancy a twist on the classic boating blazer this is ideal!

On the horse front, the horses are on the mend thankfully. Our boy was meant to be on the racecourse this week, for his first hurdle race in over 6 months. He has recovered and looks back to his old self. We wanted a bit of rain for soft ground, but didn’t want relentless rain for a week. Due to the state of the weather the racecourse was waterlogged, so racing was abandoned, not the best start! So will be keeping an eye on it all and hope to get him out again in the next few weeks.

Let's hope the rain stops and summer comes back soon.
